Module 1

For the first formstroming activity I chose items around my office/studio. This consisted of a dual USB, spray deodorant, funnel, spray bottle, awl, lead sharpener, altoids tin and roll of thread. These were a combination of simple complex objects.

Material Workshop 1

Wooden printing block. Ridgid but porous. This was used with ink to print in place of a rubber block traditionally used.
Program: Craft and Design (Industrial Design) Glass pallete. Used to hold ink for printing, for mixing and/or rolling out flat. This is used in the printing process because the material is hard, flat and not porous at all. Perfect for transferring ink.
Program: Craft and Design (Multidisciplinary) Ceramic vase. A product from a student displayed in a display case. Ceramic is very hard yet brittle, good for food/water vessels as they are also easily sanitized and cleaned. This is because once it is glaze fired it has a non-porous coating that bacteria can easily be cleaned from. Unlike non-coated ceramics which are very porous. This particular vase has layers of colour and some sort of metallic layer under the glaze as well creating an interesting aesthetic.
Program: Craft and Design (Ceramics)
